Chelsea boss Avram Grant has been named Barclays Manager of the Month - just two days before his side attempt to clinch the Premier League title.
Grant steered his side back into contention during an outstanding April as they collected 10 points from a possible 12.

Aston Villa winger Ashley Young, who was recently nominated for the Professional Footballers' Association's Young Player of the Year award, has been named player of the month.

They rounded off the month with a crucial 2-1 win over Manchester United and they now go into the final round of games this weekend level on points with their rivals.

Chelsea host Bolton while United, who have a superior goal difference, travel to Wigan.

The Blues' only slip-up in April - which could still prove costly, given the goal difference - was the concession of a late equaliser to Wigan.

It is Grant's first such award in English football.

Young, 22, scored in a 6-0 rout of Derby and added two more in a 5-1 thrashing of rivals Birmingham.
