A POT of cash is waiting to be spent on flood defences in the region and residents are being urged to claim it.
Parish and town councils are being encouraged to stake their claim in a share of £84,000 to spend on flood defences which may help to avert another disaster.

More than a quarter of a million pounds were put aside by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council following the June floods so they would be able to provide any specific local flood prevention measures to villages in need.
