The plant bank was launched earlier in the year to give people living in Driffield whose homes and gardens were flooded last summer the chance to pick up plants and shrubs for their new homes.

The scheme is the brainchild of Angela Train, of Exchange Street, Driffield, who was concerned that insurance firms would cover the cost of house repairs but not necessarily the cost of renovating gardens.
Mrs Train said: "So far we have about 500 plants on my lawn and about a thousand in someone else's greenhouse but we are still looking for as many donations as possible."

Mrs Train must receive all donations by Thursday May 8 in order to package them up ahead of collection scheduled for 12pm on Friday May 9.
The plants will be collected from Driffield and taken to the Newlife Church Centre in Hull to be distributed to flood victims from across the region during a special day of live music and fun activities for children.

The bank is part of the Churches Together Hope initiative 2008 for which Mrs Train is the co-ordinator for the Driffield area.
According to Mrs Train a tenth of all plants collected will be held back and distributed at All Saints Parish Church, Driffield, at a later date.
