FEARS over future flooding in Driffield have forced council officers to hold back on plans for a call centre in the town until a review by the Environment Agency is carried out.
Plans for the development at 47-49 Manorfield Road, which include the erection of a two storey extension, part demolition of an existing building, and external alterations, have been deferred.

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council hasreceived two letters of objection from residents in the area, which was hit by floods last year, amid fears that the development would add to the flooding problem.

According to council officers such concerns will be looked at by the Environment Agency and once the issue is addressed the plans can go forward.
