We went to the Hayride for a family meal. The place has a nice atmosphere and looks and feels friendly. Having found a table and ordered our meals then drinks, we were hardly back at the table when our starters arrived. The mains came just as quick after our starter plates had been taken away. The food I have to say is good and the portions were adequate too. After the meal the kids went outside to the play area for a while. Overall a good place to go if you want good food and to amuse the the kids when the meal has been eaten. Will definitely go again.

Great local pub, good atmosphere, staff friendly and food what you expect from a chain, nice and simple.

After being told there was a 1/2 wait the food arrived in about an hour. After the wait they had got both meals wrong but we couldnt be bothered waiting for them to get it right. Staff didnt seem vto care to much, terrible service food average, wont be going again, not to be recomended

I was looking forward to eating out with my family. Half an hour wait, thats ok. 1 hour and 15 mins later still waiting. Rubbish service.

After being served half cooked chickenI quietly approached the bar and explained the food was not cooked, I was asked if I would like another meal and told it would not be long (the pub was very quiet (Monday lunchtime) after having waited for 20 minuites for another meal andstill no appology, I sent an e-mail when I arrived home, this has not been answered.Perhaps if I had kicked up a fuss I would have received better treatment, food not good and service even worse staff need training in customer relations. not one for me to visit again.

They offer some great two for one deals at this pub, but don't go if there is an odd number in your party because if there is five in your party for example they will charge the fifth person full price and will not even allow your party to have the second meal you have 'paid for' whereas most other pubs do and even let you take it home. EG If there are not six people sitting at the table, they will charge you full price for the fifth person.

It is always a busy pub, because of it's location and the play area outside, but it is also very typical of it's type. The food is run-of-the mill pub grub, nothing special but ok. There are vegetarian options, but usually this is VERY restricted and more so on any special deal menu, often there is just one.

Strangely the Hayride gets very busy on special occassions, such as Mother's Day so ensure you book well in advance. They are family friendly but I suspect this pub is best suited to people with young families than any other group.

There is easy access for people with mobility problems and downstairs seating and loos but staff are not very disability aware so if they are seating you at busier times you will have to ensure they understand your needs.

There is plenty of parking and disabled bays close to the door although the paths in winter are not usually well cleared of ice and snow and the paving is very uneven so be careful if you are at all unsteady on your feet.

Not somewhere I would recommend, but it is popular so perhaps you will like it better than we do.

Think twice before visiting. Poor service and cold food. After being served our food a waiter came over to ask if everything was ok, we told him the food was quite cold he just replied ''oh sorry about that'' and walked away!! Not what I would call good service.

Classic National Pub Chain fare. Nothing to write home about. Staff who aren't that bothered about serving you (with one or two exceptions). Gets busy early evening with families eating together. Food is fine. Beer is fizzy (what no ale). Two for one offer on food makes it great value for money which I presume is why it stays busy.

Its quite a good kids pub with a half decent play area outside. Last day of term it tends to get really busy with loads of kids and parents celebrating.

As long as you know what you are going to get you won't be too dissapointed.

Unashamedly a family pub, part of a national chain. There is a play area in the car park.

The food isn’t bad at all and service is fast, friendly and efficient. The pub offers a 'two-for-one’ deal on meals so the cost can be quite low. There is of course a children’s menu.
