THE last Christmas for Hull Truck Theatre in its much-loved Spring Street venue is sure to go with a bang thanks to a revival of festive smash A Kick in the Baubles.
This production, written by Gordon Steel, is a hilarious alternative to the traditional panto and went down a storm with audiences when it premiered in 2005.
A Kick in the Baubles, directed by Gareth Tudor Price, joins Frank as he battles to get the turkey ready, with wife Jean on the Bucks Fizz and his snobbish in-laws due any minute. Then the neighbours arrive – hard-nut Gary and his brassy girlfriend Julie – who threaten to provide their own style of entertainment. It looks set to be anything but a Merry Christmas!
Writer Gordon Steel said: "The much-loved Spring Street theatre has borne fruit to many great John Godber plays and therefore for A Kick in the Baubles to be selected as the final Christmas show before Hull Truck moves to its new premises is humbling and quite an honour."
