TWO award-winning local companies will be among a number of farm businesses supporting the second Cherry Burton mini farmer's market on November 18.

Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery and The Side Oven Bakery from Foston on the Wolds are both delighted to have been invited to the event for the second time.

Wold Top Brewery's Gill Mellor said: "Last year's event was well organised and was attended by lots of people who were genuinely interested in supporting local producers. We all had a really enjoyable evening."

The event, organised by Cherry Burton Fairtrade and Local Produce Group, is being held at Cherry Burton Village Hall from 7pm to 9.30pm and will offer local farm businesses a platform to sell their produce.

Last year's inaugural event attracted a crowd of over 100 people who enjoyed talking to the stall holders and sampling the best of East Yorkshire's produce.

This year's stall holders include Three Little Pigs, Gold from the Wold and Epicure's Larder.

Entry is free and the first 100 people will receive a complimentary booklet of recipes contributed by the stall holders.

For more information, please contact Ros Stanley on (01964) 550688.

Wold Top Brewery will be sampling and selling their traditional real ales brewed from local ingredients and pure Wolds filtered water, including the Taste Gold award-winning Wold Gold and the popular festive gift packs.

Visitors will also be able to taste a selection of the Side Oven Bakery's hand crafted artisan breads, honey toasted mueslis, delicious farm pressed organic apple juice and Gold medal award-winning Elderflower cordial.

Produce from both companies is available through the websites at www.sideoven.com and www.woldtopbrewery.co.uk and from farmers' markets, farm shops and delis throughout Yorkshire.

Cherry Burton Fairtrade and Local Produce Group aims to promote the economic and social benefits of buying locally sourced food and holds regular meetings in Cherry Burton Village Hall.
