Funding helps groups

FUNDING is being made available to help community groups and clubs develop buildings or buy equipment.

Derbyshire County Council is providing one-off capital grants of £10,000 to £250,000 under its Community Building Grants scheme.

In December, 10 small and medium projects were awarded a share of £442,222.

Priority is being given to groups which have already raised some of their own funds towards a new project, were well developed and could demonstrate an ability to support future running costs.

A Derbyshire County Council spokeswoman said: “The criteria for funding has been established by a panel made up of council representatives, voluntary and community sector organisations, The Big Lottery Fund , Links Council for Voluntary Services and Rural Action Derbyshire.”
