THE Pipe and Glass Inn at South Dalton, near Beverley, scooped a top award in the Yorkshire Tourist Board's White Rose Award competition.
The awards were presented in front of about 500 guests who attended the ceremony at the Bridlington Spa.

The competition, supported by Yorkshire Forward, is a celebration of excellence and underpins YTB’s aim to drive up the quality of Yorkshire’s
tourism industry.

The Pipe and Glass won the Taste of Yorkshire Award, against competition from The General Tarleton, Ferrensby, Knaresborough; Hotel du Vin, Harrogate; Low Penhowe, Burythorpe; Oulton Hall, Oulton; and the Thorney Mire Barn B&B, Appersett, Hawes.

David Andrews YTB chief executive, said: “To receive a White Rose Award is an indication of the quality standards realised by the recipients.

“To be a finalist, of which there were more than 90, is a great achievement in itself, but out of those only 17 have been awarded with a trophy, which is indicative of the levels of excellence those short-listed had to aspire to.”

Andy Tordoff, assistant director of environment at Yorkshire Forward, added: “I would like to congratulate the finalists and all those who won a prestigious White Rose Award, which symbolises excellence and are recognised by the industry and customers alike.”
