GREEN-fingered residents from all corners of Beverley put on their brightest displays to impress judges of the In Bloom town competition.
Around 100 people attended the annual presentation evening of the Beverley in Bloom group, where awards were presented to the best private, business and community entries in the competition.
Standards were high and the judges were delighted that so many people showed they care about their gardens and the town.
The group's newly-elected chairman, Chris Dawson, said: "This year the whole of the Beverley in Bloom group has worked extremely hard to ensure that Beverley is a lovely place and we should all be extremely pleased with our Silver Gilt Award from Yorkshire in Bloom.
“Our awards evening was the biggest we have hosted and it just shows the enthusiasm for our In Bloom activities.”
Anyone who would like to be involved in Beverley in Bloom, or who is thinking of entering the competition next year should contact Beverley Town Council at 12 Well Lane, Beverley, telephone (01482) 874096.
