New series at Minster organ

THE tenth series of organ recitals in Beverley Minster will start next Monday, March 24.
It will be given by Dr Francis Jackson, Organist Emeritus from York Minster, who is a well known as a recitalist and composer and is making a return visit to Beverley.

His programme will include one of his own works, Prelude on East Acklam, and a piece written by Beverley Minster's organise Alan Spedding. Dr Spedding's piece, also entitled Prelude on East Acklam, was written as part of the celebrations for Dr Jackson's 90th birthday.

Dr Jackson will also play works by Bach, Vierne and his predecessor at York Minster, Edward Bairstow.

The recital starts at 6pm, tickets £6 and £7 from Beverley Tourist Centre on (01482) 391672 or at the door.
