A POLAR scientist will be giving his views on climate change at a meeting in Etton on Wednesday October 29.
Professor David Drewry will deliver this year’s Rambaut Memorial Lecture at Etton village hall, at 7.30pm.

The event is being organised by the St Mary’s Etton Church Building Trust, a charity dedicated to securing the village church’s future. The church has seen many changes in the weather during its 900-year history, including the floods which devasted the East Riding last year.

Trust chairman Debby Burman said: “We are honoured to have such a knowledgeable and distinguished scientist to be speaking to us. A Polar Perspective will enable Professor Drewry to elaborate on his life and research in some of the most extreme working conditions.”

Tickets cost £5 and are available from treasurer Kate Trossell on (01482) 810383 or the Rev Roderick Thorp, (014822) 810735.

The Rambaut Memorial Lecture is given annually in memory of Stephen Rambaut, who was Parochial Church Council treasurer for many years.
