HOMEGROWN theatrical talent will be on show next week in a black comedy to be performed for one night only in Hull Truck Theatre's studio.
Gagging For It, a Humber Mouth Special Commission and part of the renowned annual literature festival, is set against the backdrop of the stand-up comedy circuit and explores what happens when the contemporary obsession with fame and celebrity is taken to its extreme.
The short play has been co-written by Morgan Sproxton and Dave Windass and will start Lee Green, Rachel Helen, Jess Morley and Tim Bettridge.
The play will be directed by Lee Green, who said: “It is always exciting to create a new piece of work. We all have strong local connections and Gagging For It is a great opportunity for people to see what some of the actors and writers that hail from the city are capable of. As the play is only receiving a single performance, we are expecting the demand for tickets to be high.”
The play will be staged on Tuesday June 30 at 8pm. Tickets cost £5 from the box office, tel (01482) 323638.
