RESIDENTS are being invited to have their say on proposals for a 'dog control order' in the East Riding during a consultation over the coming weeks.
The order will bring together the various bye-laws and restrictions on dogs throughout the area and add a number of further restrictions, while safeguarding the rights of owners to exercise their dogs.

New regulations include a blanket ban on dogs in children’s play areas, school grounds and some sports pitches, and stipulates areas where they must be kept on a lead.

East Riding Council has consulted with town and parish councils in drawing up a draft dog control order for the area.

Members of the public are invited to have their say on the proposals, which can be viewed at any of the council’s 14 customer service centres, or by visiting www.animalwarden.eastriding. gov.uk.
