POLICE have today appealed for witnesses after a road collision in Beverley in which a 50 year old woman suffered minor injuries.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to an elderly driver who was involved in the incident in Saturday Market on Friday afternoon, March 5, and any other witnesses.
A police spokesman said a 50 year old woman from the Hornsea area had been walking across Saturday Market, away from Toll Gavel, between 2.30pm and 2.50pm when a black car reversed and was in collision with her.
The woman was pushing a pushchair and had another child with her at the time of the incident.
Members of the public gathered round to assist the woman, who suffered bruising to her arm, hip and leg. No ambulance was required.
The pedestrian also spoke to the female driver, who is described as white, possibly around 80 years old and wearing a brown fur hat and a woollen coat.
The driver left the area and did not leave her details.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact police on 0845 6060222, quoting log 791 of March 5.
