BEVERLEY Soroptimists have handed over a cheque for £1,948 to the Parkinsons Disease Society, Hull and East Riding branch.
The money was raised by a series of fundraising events including a bridge day, strawberry tea, wine and nibbles evening, a coffee morning and chocolate tombola.
The cheque was presented to the charity group’s branch chairman Harold Brazier and welfare officer Christine Watkinson by Liz Lyle, outgoing president of Soroptimist International of Beverley and District.
She also handed over her chain of office to the new president, Christine Bulmer.
