SCHOOLGIRL actress Eleanor Tomlinson (16), from Beverley, is following her role in a recent blockbuster by starring in an another major film.
Eleanor recently notched up an impressive haul of 10 GCSEs despite missing an entire term at Beverley High School as a result of her blossoming film career.
She was one of the stars of the teen comedy Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, which opened at UK cinemas in July, and has just finished filming another major role.
Eleanor has been busy shooting her part in Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland - which also stars heart-throb actor Johhny Depp.
Eleanor, who plays Fiona Chattaway in Burton's version of the Lewis Carroll classic, is now going back to school after completing the new film role.
But she says she is ready to swap her uniform for costume again if the right offer comes along.
She said; “It's been really cool, I've really enjoyed it and will be coming home this week.
“I read a lot of scripts for jobs and I'd pretty much do anything but I'm looking for something that's going to look good on my CV and do well.”
The Alice in Wonderland film also stars Matt Lucas, of Little Britain fame, who plays Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee.
Eleanor said her role in the film is something of a departure from previous parts she has played.
“She's quite a bitchy character, which is really different as I’ve never done anything like that before, so that's good.
“It's Tim Burton and a fantastic film to be involved with, so I'm really happy.”
Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging was the first of a three-film deal Eleanor signed with Paramount, and follows her success last year in the Oscar-nominated
The Illusionist, which also featured Edward Norton and Jessica Biel.
