Lecturer's theme is the romantic age

PIANO Music Of The Romantic Age will be the subject of a lecture and recital this week.
Professor Brian Newbould and Ann Airton will lead the recital, music for two and four hands, at Beverley Minster.

Prof Newbould is one of the world’s foremost experts on the music of Schubert and piano music from the Romantic age. He has written several books about Schubert and his music and is a regular specialist host for Saga holidays.

He will illustrate his lecture using the Minster’s new Steinway grand piano and will play music by Schubert including: Piano Trio In E Flat, Arpeggione Sonata, Impromptus For Solo Piano and Lebenssturme.

The lecture is in aid of the Friends Of Beverley Minster Piano Appeal and is on Saturday October 4 at 12.30pm, followed by lunch at 1.30pm.

Tickets, priced at £20 including lunch, are available from Beverley Tourist Information Centre or on (01964) 544145.
