A NERVE-shredding thriller of a play is being presented in York.
Frozen is being touted as exciting for theatre-goers and perfect for fans of television shows such as Prime Suspect, Silent Witness and Without A Trace.
Written by Bryony Lavery, Frozen is an award-winning play examining the emotional fall-out that surrounds the actions of a child killer and how and why such terrible deeds come about.
Frozen draws on neurological and psychiatric research to consider society's moral and emotional responses to abuse and explores how the abused can become the abuser.
The television adaptation of the play won the Central Television Award, adding to the TMA Best New Play Award it received when it ran at the National Theatre in London.
Fresh Glory's production will be directed by Sonia Fraser, who received an Olivier nomination for her production of Dickens' Women (Edinburgh Festival and West End) and is the winner of several Fringe First awards. Sonia had an insight into the production as she is also a practicing psychotherapist.
Frozen will be performed at York Theatre Royal's Studio from October 7 until October 9 at 7.45pm.
