PROUD of their status as investors in people is Cranswick Pet Products, one of the companies ringing in the 20th year of the Kelleythorpe Industrial Estate, Driffield.
The company, which has seen a 100 fold increase in staff numbers in the past two years, has been based on the estate since 2005.

The firm relocated from Beverley when it opened its £7m state-of-the-art premises on the estate in 2005 where production facilities and a laboratory are housed.

Cranswick Pet Products produce food and accessories for birds and small animals and is renowned for its research and development.

Factory manager, James Farnsworth, said the firm had gained many benefits from its relocation to the Driffield area - including drawing on the town's skilled workforce.

He said: "The Driffield workforce tends to be of a high standard and we try to fill available vacancies as opposed to using temporary workers.

The location has also proved to be an advantage for the firm. Mr Farnsworth added: "For us it is close to the shipping docks that we use in Goole, the road links are good to the M62 and the support from the local businesses is good."

Recent developments at the firm include securing a 10-year lease on a 48,000 sq ft hangar on the RAF Driffield site.
