A SPECIAL assembly was being held today at Beverley High School to reward the 39 students who took part in last summer's Humberside police Lifestyle project.
The students completed 1,640 hours of work on a variety of tasks to benefit the community.

One team, Arty Party Reborn, helped the Jacobs Well Appeal in Beverley by repairing and restoring 50 bicycles which were sent to children in Africa, to enable them to commute to school.

Team members Sally Bolton, Alice Hickling, Jenny McKillop, Kate Murray and Josie Murray (all 13) raised money to buy 45 puncture repair kits, 30 pumps, tools and spanners which they sent along with the bikes.

The team also had time to arrange a concert for the residents of Lindum House residential home.
