STAFF and pupils at Lockington Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School are celebrating a glowing Ofsted report.
An official inspection report by the Government body said: "This is a good school, where pupils thrive on the opportunities offered and achieve well.
"The purposeful sensitivity shown by adults and children alike fosters a caring, learning community. As a result, parents have confidence in the school.
"The quality of teaching is consistently good and the well planned curriculum interests pupils, making effective links between different areas of study. Visitors, educational trips and a variety of after school activities enhance the pupils' learning and prepare them well for secondary education.
"The pupils enjoy school, and attendance is above the national average."
Head teacher Mrs Susan Coyle said they were absolutely delighted with the report.
"I think the inspector captured what the school is about in the two days he was here. We did feel that he understood us."
She was particularly pleased with a letter the inspector wrote to the children praising their confidence, politeness and enthusiasm.
"We thought that was wonderful."
